Doris Jean Mullins, Devoted Mother and Musician, Passes Away at 93

Doris Jean Mullins, beloved mother and community member, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2025, in Butler, Kentucky. Born on May 28, 1931, in Morningview, Kentucky, to the late William Ransom and Flora Bernetta (Sexton) Morgan, Doris Jean's kind spirit and unwavering faith touched the lives of many.

A dedicated mother and entrepreneur, Doris Jean owned businesses in Butler and Falmouth, while also sharing her musical talent as a self-taught pianist at local churches. Her deep love for her family and her strong Christian faith defined her life, shaping her interactions with others and spreading hope and encouragement to all around her.

Doris Jean is survived by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, whom she cherished deeply. She touched many lives with her kindness and grace, leaving behind a legacy of love and faith that will be remembered by all who knew her.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Doris Jean's life at Peoples Funeral Home in Butler on June 9, with a funeral service to follow on June 10. Interment will take place at Gardnersville Cemetery in Demossville, Kentucky. Memorial contributions may be made to Soap and Sobriety, Inc., or the River Valley Nursing Home Activity Fund.
