Donald "Don" Charles Buring, Former Kenton County Commonwealth's Attorney, Passes Away at 75

Donald "Don" Charles Buring, 75, of Florence, KY, passed away on May 29, 2025, at Magnolia Springs after bravely battling cancer. Don, born in Covington, KY, was a graduate of St. Henry High School and the University of Cincinnati. He pursued law, earning his Juris Doctorate from the University of Kentucky College of Law. Don served as Kenton County Commonwealth's Attorney with integrity from 1984 to 2000, advocating for victims and demonstrating a true commitment to justice.

Actively engaged in his community, Don was a proud member of the Kenton County Jaycees and the local Democratic community. Even after retirement, he continued serving, notably as Development Director at Covington Catholic High School. Don loved playing cards, golfing, and cherished his family vacations on Hilton Head Island.

He is survived by his daughter Carrie Iddings, son David Buring, sister June Fening, and grandchildren Owen, Ellie, Andi, and Wade. A memorial visitation will be held on June 5, 2025, at Linnemann Funeral Homes, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Barbara Catholic Church on June 6, 2025.
