Vonda was known for her warmth and kindness, embracing the role of a mother not just to her own children, but to all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her welcoming spirit made everyone feel at home, and she cherished the moments with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Vonda took great joy in nurturing those around her, always ensuring everyone went home with a full stomach and a bright smile. Her beloved pets held a special place in her heart. A gifted cook and baker, who was known for her delicious fudge and buckeyes. In her leisure time, Vonda loved watching her favorite soap operas and Wheel of Fortune, as well as always staying on the go and collecting beautiful pieces for her curio cabinet.
Vonda is reunited in peace with her father Elmer Spivey; her mother, Beulah Spivey; her husband, Joseph Thoma, Sr. ; her brother, Kenny Spivey; and other cherished loved ones. She is survived by her devoted children, Joseph Jr. , Tonya, John, and Tina; her cherished grandchildren, Taylor, Joseph, Noelle, and Preston; her great-grandchildren, Amiyah, Johnnie III, and Elijah; her daughter-in-law, Holly Peach; her grandson Joseph’s girlfriend (Tiana Adams) and her granddaughter Taylor’s fiancé (Johnnie Shepherd); and a host of other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Northern Kentucky Chapel, located at 4350 Dixie Highway, Erlanger, Kentucky. A graveside service will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
