Crestview Hills, KY - Danny Carl Baker, 77, passed away on June 29, 2025. Born on June 13, 1948, in Manchester, Kentucky, Danny was the son of the late Foister and Allie Baker.

Danny devoted over 30 years of his life to education and coaching at Highlands High School, leaving an indelible mark on countless students and athletes. As the head coach for boys’ track and girls’ cross-country teams from 1994 to 2011, his leadership resulted in three state championships for the girls’ cross-country teams and consistent top-3 finishes for the boys’ track teams. Danny's dedication and success garnered recognition in multiple "Coach of the Year" awards and induction into the Kentucky High School Track & Cross-Country Coaches Hall of Fame in 2016.

A history enthusiast and passionate educator, Danny’s engaging teaching style brought historical events to life and left a lasting impact on his students and community. Raised in a self-sufficient environment, he developed a strong work ethic and appreciation for life's simple pleasures.

With a love for Siesta Key, 1960s music, and University of Louisville Basketball, Danny’s vibrant personality and love for family shone bright. He is survived by his son, Danny Baker; and siblings Kathy Groneman, Sandy Davis, and Linda Huntsberger.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at Linnemann Funeral Home in Erlanger, KY, followed by a service at 1:00 p.m. and burial at Big Bone Baptist Cemetery in Union, KY.

Danny's lasting impact will be felt by the students, athletes, colleagues, friends, and family who were fortunate to share his wisdom, leadership, and immense love for life.
