Crestview Hills, KY - James Carl Sparrow, 77, passed away on July 1, 2025, surrounded by family. Jim was a devoted husband, proud father, adoring grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He is survived by his loving wife, Joan; son Jonathan, daughter-in-law Paige, and grandchildren Gibson James, Isla Grey, and Wells Whitley. Also survived by his sister Jane (Steve) Naugler, nieces Gretchen Kintzel and Stacy Naugler, and several grand nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents Jesse and Nina Sparrow and niece Missy Naugler.

A dedicated University of Cincinnati alum, Jim supported his alma mater and Pike fraternity, fostering lifelong friendships. He excelled in accounting, becoming a CPA and partner at Rankin and Rankin, renowned for his integrity and sharp mind. His commitment extended to community service, including roles as the Northern Kentucky Salvation Army treasurer, Covington Rotary Club president, Kentucky Society of CPAs president, and Kentucky State Board of Accountancy board member.

Jim found simple joy in life—golfing with his son, cheering at his grandchildren's events, and tending to his garden. A Manchester United and Cincinnati Reds enthusiast, he enjoyed retirement while relaxing with his loyal dog, Beamer, at Ryland Lakes Country Club. Jim's life exemplified loyalty, kindness, and consistency.

Remembered for his dedication to work, values, and family, Jim's presence will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 9th from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM at Linnemann Funeral Homes in Erlanger, KY, with a brief service and burial at Highland Cemetery to follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the College Education and Charitable Foundation in Cincinnati and the Salvation Army Southwest in Greater Cincinnati & Northern Kentucky.
