Fondly known for his warm personality, Butch adored his grandchildren, who held a special place in his heart. Alongside his wife of 57 years, Sharon Miskell (nee Whitehead), Butch enjoyed a beautiful life that began in childhood. Together, they raised a family and built a dream log cabin, symbolizing their shared journey and aspirations.
In addition to his family roles, Butch found happiness in simple pleasures like fishing, yard work, and connecting with nature. These activities showcased his gentle nature and love for the outdoors.
Survived by his children Joe (Christina) Miskell and Tonya Baughman, grandchildren, brother, sisters, and numerous family members and friends, Butch will be deeply missed. He is preceded in death by his parents, father John Miskell, mother Emily Miskell (nee Crusoe), son John Robert Miskell, sister Julie Hampton, and brothers Mike Miskell and Fred Miskell.
A memorial visitation for Butch and his brother Fred will take place on Monday, July 14, 2025, followed by services and burial at Newcomer Cremation, Funerals, and Receptions and Independence Cemetery, respectively.
John Robert Miskell's legacy of love, kindness, and community spirit will be dearly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. To send flowers or order memorial trees in memory of John Robert Miskell, please visit the designated flower store.
