Emma dedicated her life to caring for others, serving as a housekeeper at the Clarion Hotel and later as a beloved cafeteria server for Newport City Schools until her retirement. Her love of cooking was renowned, with her peanut butter and chocolate fudge a highly anticipated treat among friends and family. Emma's quick wit, engaging storytelling, and love of humor brightened every room she entered.
In her downtime, Emma enjoyed puzzles, game shows, and immersing herself in a good book. However, her greatest happiness came from time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, providing her with endless joy. A recent highlight was her first plane ride and ocean visit in October, an experience she cherished deeply.
Emma is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Deaton; son, Jeffrey Deaton; son-in-law, John Runion; parents, Clifton and Laura Sebastian; and several siblings. She leaves behind a legacy of love embraced by her devoted daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025, with a service at Linnemann Funeral Homes in Erlanger, KY. Emma will be laid to rest beside her husband at Evergreen Cemetery. Pallbearers will include select family members.
Emma's memory will be forever cherished, reflecting her kind, generous spirit that touched the hearts of all who knew her.
