Karen O'Brien Remembered for Her Kindness and Light

With heavy hearts, we mourn the loss of our beloved Karen, who passed away peacefully on May 18th at the age of 57. Born to Leslee Garner Curotto and Terrance “Terry” O’Brien on April 21, 1968, at St. Elizabeth in Covington, Kentucky, Karen's gentle presence and boundless compassion touched the lives of all fortunate enough to know her.

Karen's legacy of love and inclusivity was felt by all who crossed her path. Her warm smile, listening ear, quiet strength, and sense of humor made everyone feel valued and seen. Cherishing moments with her family, sunsets at the beach, and skiing brought her joy. Karen's essence inspired kindness and unity, leaving a lasting impact on the world.

She is survived by her parents, her husband, Dan Schlipf, her children Daniel, Ben, and Hallie Schlipf, her brother Patrick O’Brien, sisters Taylor Adair (Jordan), Quinton O’Brien, and Nikolas O’Brien. Karen's memory is honored by those who loved her deeply.

Visitation will be held at Linnemann Funeral Homes in Erlanger, Kentucky on Friday, May 23, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with a service following at 1:00 PM. A procession to Highland Cemetery in Ft. Mitchell will conclude with a graveside service.
