The 52nd National March for Life took place on January 24, 2025, in Washington, D.C., with the theme "Life: Why We March." Thousands gathered on the National Mall to express their support for the unborn. Archbishop Joseph F. Naumann of Kansas City, Kansas, led the rally in prayer and emphasized that this is "the most important human rights issue." He noted the positive atmosphere and highlighted President Donald Trump's recent pardon of 23 pro-life protesters convicted under the Freedom of Access to Clinics Act.
Despite setbacks in pro-life efforts post-Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization decision, Archbishop Naumann stressed the need to change cultural perceptions through evangelization. "We have to evangelize them with love and with our joy," he stated.
Participants included Dominican Sisters Mary Rose Bingham and Theresa Joseph Loan Anh Nguyen, who expressed their commitment to life as a fundamental gift from God. Marcela Rojas from New York attended with a group advocating for those without a voice. She urged mothers facing difficult decisions to seek help and alternatives to abortion.
Chris and Isabel Hoff traveled from Michigan to promote adoption at the march. They were encouraged by supportive responses from fellow participants. Diane Ferraro, CEO of Save the Storks, shared her personal connection to the cause as an adoptee and emphasized supporting pregnant women.
Michelle Rivera, a young participant from San Diego, called on her generation to lead efforts toward a pro-life culture shift. "We are the ones in charge of making the difference," she said.
