Beginning March 27, the fifth season of "The Chosen," titled "The Chosen: Last Supper," will be released in theaters in the U.S. and Canada. This installment focuses on events during Holy Week, leading up to Easter on April 20. The series portrays the life of Jesus and his disciples.

5&2 Studios announced that this new season will be available in three parts: Part One (episodes 1-2), Part Two (episodes 3-5), and Part Three (episodes 6-8). A trailer for Season 5 shows scenes such as Jesus arriving in Jerusalem, cleansing the temple, and moments from the Last Supper.

Catholic actor Jonathan Roumie, who plays Jesus, discussed his experiences while filming at the National Eucharistic Congress in Indianapolis on July 20. He described these scenes as "probably the most iconic" due to their focus on the Eucharist's institution. Roumie shared how meaningful these scenes were to him because of his own devotion to the Eucharist.

Roumie explained how daily Mass has influenced his life: “Receiving the Eucharist, going to daily Mass for me has changed my life.” He recounted having spiritual support during filming from Father Ian, his spiritual director. Roumie spoke about feeling anxious before shooting but found solace through prayer and support from Father Ian.

He elaborated on why filming was stressful: “I understand the reality of what it is we believe and what that host represents." For Roumie, "The Eucharist for me is healing... peace... grounding."

Dallas Jenkins, creator and executive producer of "The Chosen," expressed excitement about releasing Season 5: “I’m possibly more excited to bring Season 5 to the world than any other season we’ve done.”

After its initial release in North America, "The Chosen: Last Supper" Part One will roll out globally beginning April 10 across more than 40 territories. The full season is expected to debut later in 2025 on streaming platforms.
