The Kenton County Planning Commission (KCPC) is scheduled to hold its next public hearing on December 5, 2024, at 6:15 p.m. The hearing will take place in the Kenton Chambers of the Kenton County Government Center located in Covington.
One of the proposals under consideration is from the City of Erlanger. Mark Collier, Director of Economic Development and Assistant City Administrator, has submitted a request for a public facility review concerning two areas along Erlanger Road. The proposal includes developing a recreational park with a dog park and green space in Area 1, and a walking and bike path in Area 2.
The City of Covington has also submitted a proposal for review by Tom West, AICP, Director of Economic Development. This proposal involves the construction of a new City Hall on Scott Street.
Additionally, Orleans Development has applied for a map amendment through Tony Kreutzjans on behalf of Three Bees, LLC. The request aims to change an area from Limited Industrial to Semi-Urban Residential zoning to facilitate the conversion of an existing warehouse into an apartment building.
In Ludlow, Jamie West has proposed text amendments to allow medical cannabis dispensaries within certain zones and establish standards related to medical cannabis uses.
The City of Crestview Hills is seeking similar text amendments under Mayor Paul Meier and Alex Mattingly's guidance. These amendments would permit medical cannabis dispensaries and safety compliance facilities within specified zones.
Elsmere's proposal by Katie Hehman involves allowing medical cannabis cultivation and dispensaries within designated zones while establishing specific standards for these uses.
Lastly, Erlanger has proposed adding Building Material Sales as a permitted use within its Neighborhood Commercial Zone under Mark Collier’s direction.
