The March for Life Education and Defense Fund has announced the theme for its 2025 event: "Every Life: Why We March." This was revealed on October 10, ahead of the organization's 52nd annual march scheduled for January 24. The event is set to occur shortly after the inauguration of the next U.S. president.

Jeanne Mancini, president of the group, stated that this year's theme comes at a time of "confusion and erroneous messaging" about abortion. Mancini emphasized the group's commitment to being on what they consider "the right side of history" and stressed the importance of focusing on fundamental issues regarding life.

"Our theme is returning to the basics," Mancini said during a media briefing. She noted that abortion has become a significant topic in both national politics and personal discussions across America. The group plans to highlight biological facts about fetal development to showcase "the beauty of the unborn child."

Mancini also mentioned encountering discouragement among supporters due to recent political developments following the Supreme Court's reversal of Roe v. Wade two and a half years ago. Pro-life activists have faced challenges with ballot measures in several states, including Ohio, California, Kentucky, Michigan, Montana, Vermont, and Kansas. These measures either rejected new abortion restrictions or expanded legal protections for it.

Jennie Bradley Lichter will assume leadership as president-elect after January's event. She expressed her long-standing admiration for March for Life's spirit and persistence.

Bethany Hamilton, a professional surfer known also as an author and motivational speaker, will serve as keynote speaker at this year's event—the first female athlete in this role.
